A Guide For Furnace Installation

A furnace is mostly used as a major component of the central heating system. Furnace replacement Cambridge ON provides heat to interior spaces through intermediary fluid movement, air, steam, or hot water. Furnaces can be classified into four categories: efficiency and design, natural draft, forced air, forced draft, and condensing.

Installing

Installing a furnace is not a do-it-yourself project as the installation is a complicated endeavor. Furnaces contain several complicated components that include electrical, ducting, plumbing, and gas that require installation. The installation process includes:

Selecting your furnace and location for installation

After choosing the furnace, you need to select the location for installation. Selecting the proper space depends on the type of furnace and plans for the remaining space.

Place where your duct and drain will run

The return air duct can be on the unit’s side or bottom and requires a hole to be cut into the unit. Most come pre-marked with the appropriate size opening needed. Next, decide which side the condensate drain will run on. Place your furnace into position, nearly level with a slight slope towards the condensate drain exit.

Connect to the ducting system

Connect your home’s ducting system correctly and adequately position it to the furnace unit.

Connect the vent pipes

Connect your furnace intake and exhaust pipes.

Connect electrical supply

Before starting your new furnace for the first time, verify your wiring with the instruction manual.
