What Is “AFUE” And Why Is It Important?
Furnace operating efficiency is measured by the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, or “AFUE.” The higher the AFUE percentage the more efficiently the furnace operates and the less energy it costs to operate.

The Whirlpool Gold® WGFM29 furnace is a two-stage upflow horizontal discharge furnace with an input rating of 46,000–115,000 BTUH (both stages) and 32,000–80,000 BTUH (first stage). This furnace has a 96% AFUE rating.
